What Time Will iPadOS 16 Be Released? [Update: It's Out!]
Update: iPadOS 16 is rolling out now, though it may take a few minutes before it shows up for some users.
First announced in June at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference, iPadOS 16 is Apple's next-generation operating system for iPad and it is launching today in most countries around the world. Given a simultaneous worldwide release, some countries will not see a launch until the early hours of October 25.
While Apple hasn't officially announced what time iPadOS 16 will be released, we have a fairly good idea based on previous releases as Apple typically releases major operating system updates at around 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. There have been a few exceptions to this schedule, but only on a very limited basis and usually in somewhat unusual circumstances that we aren't seeing for iPadOS 16.
Assuming the typical 10:00 a.m. Pacific launch time, iPadOS 16 (which will arrive with version number 16.1) will be available at approximately these times around the world:

- Anchorage, Alaska — 9:00 a.m. AKDT
- Cupertino, California — 10:00 a.m. PDT
- Phoenix, Arizona — 10:00 a.m. MST

- Dallas, Texas — 12:00 noon CDT

Alongside iPadOS 16.1, we are also expecting the release of macOS Ventura, iOS 16.1, watchOS 9.1, and tvOS 16.1.
