Two iOS 27 Features Won't Be Ready for Monday's Launch

Two iOS 27 features need a little more time in testing and won't be shipping until a future update, even though they were present during the beta period.

ios 27 passwords auto fix
Suggestions in Messages conversations and the option to automatically fix compromised passwords with a tap will not be in the initial version of ‌iOS 27‌, and will instead launch in a later version of ‌iOS 27‌.

Apple noted the delays on its iOS 27 page, as well as its iPadOS 27 and macOS Golden Gate pages as these are cross-platform features.

For the password update feature, the Passwords app uses Apple Intelligence and Safari to fix compromised passwords in the background without the user needing to do so manually

In the Messages app, ‌Apple Intelligence‌ surfaces one-tap suggestions based on what's being discussed in a conversation. If someone you're talking to asks you to send a photo or complete a task, Messages recognizes the request and suggests action on the information with the relevant apps.

We already know that an iOS 27.1 update will be coming before October 23 because the iPhone Duo comes out on that date and ships with it pre-installed. We could potentially get the new features as soon as iOS 27.1.

‌iOS 27‌ and ‌iPadOS 27‌ will launch to the public on Monday, September 14.

Yep, Apple Intelligence (i.e. an AI agent) can use Safari, Mail and Messages to log in to websites, grab one-time codes, and change your password.
Well, you're someone I trust to know what they're saying, so thanks and let me get back to lining my ceiling with tin foil. šŸ˜…

There is no way it will ā€œlearnā€ to navigate the complexity of a login portal and then go thru the litany of steps required to change a password, all without user interaction.
Sure it will. The basic task here is trivial.

My prediction is the password update feature never sees the light of day.

Websites vary greatly and AI doesn’t do 90% of things it claims to do. There is no way it will ā€œlearnā€ to navigate the complexity of a login portal and then go thru the litany of steps required to change a password, all without user interaction. That seems easy on the surface, but it’s like asking GPT to make that cake you like. A human close to you would likely understand context even for such a vague demand, but a pattern recognition engine and writing tool? Come on.

The promises just keep getting bolder as the bubble keeps thinning.

Yep, Apple Intelligence (i.e. an AI agent) can use Safari, Mail and Messages to log in to websites, grab one-time codes, and change your password. On macOS, you can actually bring back the automatic password change flow:

The same goes for suggestions, the flag is [ICODE]Messages/AssistantActionSuggestions[/ICODE]
ICE agents forcefully unlock someone’s phone with Face ID / fingerprint after stealing their phone. Goes through all the AI summaries of everything your watch has ever recorded. Changes passwords to lock you out of all your online accounts, throws away your phone. Congratulations you are now a non citizen.
