Why iPhone Duo's Under-Screen Camera Isn't in the Corner

iphone duo under screen camera 1If you're wondering why the under-screen camera on the iPhone Duo's inner display isn't placed in the top-right corner, Chinese leaker Instant Digital has provided an explanation.

"The iPhone Duo's under-display camera wasn't placed in the top-right corner of the inner screen because of engineering difficulties," said the leaker in a Weibo post this morning. "The next generation will likely move it there, aligning it perfectly with the outer screen's camera." That sounds like a real engineering challenge, since the opposing rear cameras are the thickest things in the whole phone, but let's wait and see.

I think that's just the 'right' location, closer to the middle may look better during video conferencing.

Too many compromises just for a slightly bigger screen

Agree! What would be more impactful is a smaller and lighter device, like an iPhone Mini.

Or the power of an iPhone 18 Pro in an iPhone 6 form factor.

The placement of the inner camera, being closer to the middle, is a compromise?

I think people have forgotten that the classic advice for Apple users was always wait for the 2nd revision
Never heard that EVER. I certainly don’t remember anyone saying that when iPhone 1 launched
