I really hope the older ones get access to Siri AI. There is no excuse when they can be making cloud calls for the AI. Can't see myself replacing all my Homepods with AI ones anytime soon.

Hopefully they bring back some of the audio hardware they stripped out in the 2nd generation. My OG HomePods still sound great after all these years, so I have no intention of upgrading them until they die. I will, however, buy a new HomePod mini for my girlfriend if the quality improves. As it stands, she hates the one she has because it "sounds like crap."
I would add, that they are leaving money on the table by not supporting 3.5mm audio in options or bluetooth options.

Why? It’s already a few years old and the tech inside is seriously dated. I expect these as soon as possible for siri ai support and home os
Homepod mini is 6 years old this November. Running on a S5 watch SoC released in Sept 2019. It also got a whopping price increase of 30%! Because you know, that 1GB or RAM inside clearly costs them an ARM (sorry) and a leg.

We are living in the Dark Ages now.

Also find it bewildering that they faked the new Siri 2.0 which was all about stringing together multiple commands. So a user didn’t have to yell into their mic “Hey Siri, turn off the lights. Hey Siri, turn off the TV. Hey Siri, turn on the heat. Hey Siri, lock the door” but could ask her to do it all in one command. As I recall, that was the big pitch and the seeming need for devices to require oodles of RAM and the power of an M4 Max, and why the base iPhone 15 didn’t support it.

Yet that just vaporized and nobody talks about it and just talks about Siri 2.0 and AI but none of that makes Siri any different whatsoever from before.

This is so overdue. With the delays in Apple Intelligence, how is this not already completely ready and waiting to ship?
