Apple Seeds Fifth Beta of macOS Monterey 12.5 to Developers

Apple today seeded the fifth beta of an upcoming macOS Monterey 12.5 update to developers for testing purposes, with the new update coming over a week after the release of the fourth macOS Monterey 12.5 beta.

macOS Monterey 2
Registered developers can download the beta through the Apple Developer Center and after the appropriate profile is installed, betas will be available through the Software Update mechanism in System Preferences.

There's no word yet on what new features or changes might be included in macOS Monterey 12.5, and nothing new was found in the first four betas. It's likely this update focuses on bug fixes and other minor improvements to the operating system.

macOS Monterey 12.5 could be one of the final updates to the macOS Monterey website as Apple is now shifting its focus to macOS Ventura, the next-generation Mac operating system coming this fall.

Something horrible here - right click on Documents or Applications in the dock and click "Open in Finder" and I get an error, "The application Finder can't be opened -609".
Finder can still be opened by double clicking the Macintosh HD icon.
Upgraded from b4. The only other new thing was uninstalling Intel MS Teams and installing AS MS Teams.

As I have been rightfully reminded, those of us who are using a beta version of the OS on our main work machine should have known better... I would never let an engineer install beta software for a customer unless this is on the express recommandation of a support team to fix an issue. We even rarely install .0 Versions on a production environnement because experience taught us to wait for the first or second service packs...

Betas are made for testing and we should not take the stability of a beta software for granted, even if it's a fifth beta as we are clearly being demonstrated right now. I reverted to beta 4 like @jcscol did and will definitely be more cautious before I install another beta version, at the very least waiting a few days and making sure it's been tested by other enthusiasts before I take such a risk. Some might disagree, but as much as I am tempted to blame Apple for the loss of productivity today, I am the one who choose to install this beta without thinking twice about it.

Lesson learn again (at least until autumn lol ?).

Good luck to all.
