Apple Campus 2 'Spaceship' Taking Shape as Construction Continues

Heading into November, construction on Apple's second campus is progressing nicely, with Apple's construction crews making a lot of headway on the ring-shaped main building. A new aerial video captured by drone pilot Duncan Sinfield and shared with MacRumors gives a close-up view at the current state of the building.

Four internal levels of the primary building have now been completed, and the concept Steve Jobs envisioned for the campus is starting to take shape. When completed, the interior area of the building will feature hundreds of trees and lots of greenery, with outdoor eating and viewing areas for Apple employees.

Two nearby parking structures are now close to being completed, and there's also been some progress made on the underground auditorium, where Apple will hold major press events. There have been a lot of changes since we last shared an aerial video in September.

When fully complete, the second Apple campus will feature the 2.8 million square foot ring-shaped main building, several parking structures, a 100,000 square foot fitness center, a 120,000 square foot auditorium for hosting events, and a dedicated visitor's center complete with an observation deck, cafe, and Apple Store. Apple is on track to finish construction at the end of next year.

I guess the profit from 5400rpm disks pays for all the rocket fuel to make it fly away to its home planet once it's finished.

Unreal.

Extravagant headquarters are usually the death knell for a company. I hope its different this time.
Do you have any data whatsoever to back this up? Of course not. It's just a *** blurb. Many excellent companies have very nice headquarters. If you think apple is spending too much money on this, then make a stand and stop buying apple products.

This forum has gone to ****
I think it's even worse than that. One guy here is going to be bashing the apple watch on his death bed. Another will be talking about the 5400 rpm disk issue at his high school graduation, and he doesn't even care about the iMac.

Trying to get useful information from any thread here is becoming harder and harder to do. If this isn't stopped, fairly soon this forum is simply going to become a forum for joke (and bad ones at that) and a place for people with nothing better to do with their lives than to complain about anything and everything to gather. Those who actually have something useful to say will be long gone. I hope the owners understand this and realize what is happening to the forum.

Why would they need permission?
Man these videos should be illegal. Its private property, and at some point the airspace should be considered private as well. At some points in the video the drone is below the level of the top floor as well. If you ask me somebody on the property would be in the right to shoot down such a drone with a shotgun. A person can't just walk onto private property and start filming without permission of the property holder. This is no different.

You got it right on. If I were building an extravagant home that the public was interested in, I wouldn't want people flying "drones" over the property. Hell, I don't care if the home is under construction. Any "drone" flying in the airspace over my property with a recording device will have a nice (camera) frame full of lead shot.
Are you going to shot down airplanes too?

what a sad comment. Apple is not a charity, and nobody is forced to buy anything Apple.
Actually that was mostly sarcasm, Apple is a business and a very successful one however I've been (as many users), surprised by the decision to keep low-end 5400rpm drives as a bottleneck to the well-built system, that is all :).
