Weight Watchers Offering Apple Watch Series 2 With Membership

apple-watch-series-2Weight Watchers today introduced a variation of its OnlinePlus subscription plan that includes a new 38mm model Apple Watch Series 2 with an annual membership.

The subscription plan has an initial installment fee of $99.95 in the first month, followed by a monthly fee of $34.95 for the next 12 months, for a total price of nearly $520.

Apple Watch Series 2 models start at $369, while a standalone OnlinePlus membership currently costs $242 for 13 months, so the combo would cost $611 if purchased separately.

In other words, if you were already planning to join Weight Watchers and purchase a new Apple Watch Series 2, this promotion will save you around $109.

"Weight Watchers and Apple share the belief that moving more each day has a powerful impact on people's lives," said Jeff Williams, Apple's Chief Operating Officer. "We are thrilled that Weight Watchers will be helping their members live a healthier day with the addition of Apple Watch to their OnlinePlus program."

At the end of the 13-month period, the plan automatically renews for a standard monthly fee of $19.95 until you cancel.

Weight Watchers told us customers do not have to return the Apple Watch at the end of the membership period, but there is a $304 early cancellation fee to pay for the device if you cancel in the first month. The cancellation fee will be reduced by $25.33 per month thereafter until the 13-month installment plan expires.

With an OnlinePlus subscription, the official Weight Watchers app [Direct Link] for iOS and Apple Watch enables members to track their food intake and physical activity with a personalized dashboard. Users can set tailored and adaptive activity goals, access a community exclusive to Weight Watchers, and more.

Watchwatchers is a lot of c***. Want to lose weight? Learn to cook fresh food. Cut down a little. Do a little excercise. All it takes. You can get healthy recipes if you want on YouTube and many free websites. You don't need this New Jersey company and its 40,000 employees to lose weight.

I guess this is good if you were already planning to join WW... Not nearly as nice as the DirecTV Now and Apple TV deal though :D
Two sides of the same coin. One's for people who want to trim down, the other is for those who want to fatten up.

Link?
It's right on the DirectTV Now main site - if you prepay for 3 months you get a free 32GB ATV.

Not everyone has your.....attitude and some of them need help and peer support. But hey, don't let that stop you from making them feel worse about their situation, Your Majesty. Any other lectures for the unwashed masses before you get back to planning your next masquerade ball?

I hope it will work better then the activity trackers in this study ('http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/27/well/activity-trackers-may-undermine-weight-loss-efforts.html'), which led to *less* weight loss.
Exercise does NOT equate to weight loss. Eating less calories does.

If you are more active, your stamina and physical fitness improves. Nothing to do with weight loss. If this increased activity causes you to eat more, you'll still gain weight.

If you eat healthy, your health will improve. Still nothing to do with weight loss.

It's all calories in - calories out to determine if you will lose weight. Nothing to do with an activity tracker.

Motivation is the most important thing to lose weight. People get it many different places. WeightWatchers is a great place to succeed - and much, much better than all those fad diets.

Yes, it's all about cutting down calories. It has nothing to do with eating fresh food or exercise. Weight loss is all about calories in, calories out. Eat less than you burn in a day, you'll lose weight. Yes, fresh food helps - lot less calorie abundant than greasy fast food. Exercise helps too, more calories burned. But they're not necessary. You can lose weight if you eat 4 McDonald's cheeseburgers a day (300 calories each) and water, and do no exercise. You won't feel as good as eating fresh food, but it will work in losing weight.
